Sedation Orders

  • pharmacists must review all medications prior to them being administered in the lab.
  • The day before the scheduled procedures, when the GI/Pulm RN’s are placing the consult order into CPRS, the RN’s will review the chart to ensure the procedure medication order set has been placed.  
  • We do not have a lot of pulmonary procedures under moderate sedation in the lab, so when a physician calls to get one scheduled, we could just have them place the order set into CPRS at that time.

    • Fentanyl
    • Midazolam
    • Simethicone
    • Lidocaine 4% gargle
    • Lidocaine (viscous)
    • Benadryl
